Syria tours: the lands of Sham

Syria is at the heart of Bilad al-Sham, where so much of early Islamic history took place. Damascus was the capital of the Umayyad caliphate, Khalid ibn al-Walid is buried in Homs, and Salahuddin al-Ayyubi rests beside the Umayyad Mosque. For many British Muslims it is a journey they have wanted to make for years.

Our Syria tours are combined with Jordan. We fly from London Stansted to Amman, visit the Cave of the Seven Sleepers and the Blessed Tree, then cross into Syria with licensed local guides.

Places we visit

  • Damascus: the Umayyad Mosque, the resting place of Salahuddin al-Ayyubi and the Mosque of the Forty Martyrs on Mount Qasioun.
  • Bosra: the ancient city on the old trade route between Makkah and Sham.
  • Homs and Hama: the Khalid ibn al-Walid Mosque in Homs and the historic city of Hama.
  • Aleppo: the Umayyad Mosque of Aleppo and the old city.
