· Travel guides

Before you book a tour, check what you need to enter the country. Here are the current entry rules for British passport holders on every Sabeel Travels destination, checked against GOV.UK travel advice in November 2026.

Entry rules change, sometimes at short notice. Always check the latest GOV.UK travel advice for your destination before you travel, and contact us if you hold a different passport.

Al Aqsa: Israel ETA

Since 1 January 2025, British citizens need an Electronic Travel Authorisation before travelling to Israel. It costs 25 shekels, lasts 2 years and covers visits of up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 90 days after you arrive. Apply well before you fly. See GOV.UK travel advice.

Jordan: visa on arrival or Jordan Pass

You can buy a single-entry visa on arrival at Jordan's airports for 40 Jordanian dinars. If you are staying at least 3 nights, the Jordan Pass (70 to 80 dinars, bought online in advance) includes the visa fee and entry to Petra and other sites. If you enter Jordan at the King Hussein (Allenby) Bridge you need your visa in advance. See GOV.UK travel advice.

Uzbekistan: visa-free for 30 days

British citizens can visit Uzbekistan without a visa for up to 30 days. Every visitor must be registered within 3 days of arriving; hotels normally do this for you. See GOV.UK travel advice.

Bosnia: visa-free for 90 days

No visa is needed for up to 90 days in any 6-month period. Get your passport stamped when you enter and leave, as you can be fined at the border without an exit stamp. Hotels register you with the police on arrival. See GOV.UK travel advice.

Egypt: visa on arrival or e-visa

At the airport you can buy a visa from the kiosks before immigration for $30 in cash, valid for 30 days. You can also apply for an e-visa online before you travel. See GOV.UK travel advice.

Iraq: e-visa in advance

Visas on arrival are no longer available for federal Iraq. Apply for the e-visa online at least 24 hours before you travel. It costs $160 and is valid for 60 days, and you need a return or onward ticket. A Kurdistan Region visa is not valid for the rest of Iraq. See GOV.UK travel advice.

Cyprus and Spain

Neither needs a visa for a short holiday, but both have passport rules: your passport must have been issued less than 10 years before you arrive and be valid for at least 3 months after you leave. Spain uses the EU Entry/Exit System, so you may have your fingerprints and photo taken on your first visit. Cyprus does not. See GOV.UK travel advice and GOV.UK travel advice.

Umrah

British citizens need a Saudi visa to perform Umrah. Our team can advise which visa suits your trip and help you apply. See visa applications.
